Beauty from Carolina

Just a quick note to point you towards From My Carolina Home.   I really loved all her quilts and their many variations and her upcycled pincushions but you have to read further and see her wonderful trip to the Biltmore Estate. It's called Designed for Drama-A Biltmore House Event and features that awesome house and many many period costumes taken from books and movies that you will recognize.  The dresses are dazzling.

Still Winter and Still Quilting

The Rivers Edge Antique and Quilt Loft in Hayward, WI looks like a very fine place to chose from about 4,000 bolts of a variety of fabrics. They have a f ree wool BOM which you can download from their online catalog. You can order online here or plan a road trip but either way it looks like a fun shop.

Bonjour Quilts features a wonderful blog and pattern shop. The When You Wish baby quilt is on my to do list for sure.  They are also doing a Farmer's Wife 1930's series of blocks that look quite sweet. The patterns in her shop are also very interesting, I really liked the Go West and The Plus Side patterns.

Wooden Spoon Quilts is also participating in the Farmer's Wife  blocks.  It appears they are all using Marti Mitchell templates for this.  She has some nice tutorials too, love the Summer Cabin Quilt block and the Raspberry Kiss block.

Charm About You is a busy blog with photos of great quilts and projects and quilt a longs.  Here are her tutorials which feature a lot of techniques and tips.

Here are some more quilt show photos.

Don't Call Me Betsy plus More Photos

Don't Call Me Betsy is a wonderful blog filled with ideas.  I think you'll spend a lot of time here reading and then running off to snip up some fabric!  On the right side bar are links to her Craftsy classes and her books.  If you haven't checked out Craftsy, you should.  There is also her pattern shop filled with some gorgeous quilts.  Here is one called Show Stopper  and this Eternity Ring quilt just to give you an idea of her quilts.  Go down a bit further on the side bar and there is just a whole lot of tutorials to look into.  Each one is worthy of a whole quilt.  This is a fun blog so take the time to read for a while.
Here are some more pics from our last show.

Quilts and Quilters

Despite the rain and fog last night, we had a good turn out at our meeting and a great time.  Kay gave us a look at some new blocks.  I'm sure Laurie will get some photos up for us soon.

I visited Jo's Country Junction for a cute jelly roll quilt called Ins and Outs and it looks like a good way to use some of those jelly rolls you might have forgot about. H ere is also a location on their site for many other quilts. Love the little fella who has to pose with the quilts.  Please notice that she also has tutorials for table runners, accessories and quilt designs too.  They also have books for sale and a link to that.

Here are some more quilts from our 2016 quilt show.
