Quilts for Residents of Veteran's Manor

As you all know we have been busy sewing quilts for our several different veteran's projects.  One being for the future residents of the Major General Jacob Brown Veteran's Manor in Green Bay, Wis.  This 50 unit facility will house low income and homeless veteran's.  Pine Needle Quilter's have committed to making a quilt for each veteran that will be moving into this apartment building.
On June 3rd a few of our members were interviewed by Channel 2 regarding our guilds "gift of love".  Many of you did not see the interview, so you can watch it here.
Also a few of us went down yesterday for the dedication ceremony of this very fine project, and also delivered 34 quilts.  We were able to present a couple veteran's with their quilts.

With their permission I share these photos with you.  Both of these fine men were just so pleased with the quilts.  I believe the quote of one was something like:  "You have no idea how much this means to me."

It was a truly touching experience, and wanted to share these photos with you.  Just know that all of the work we have done on our veteran's quilts over the years is really appreciated by those who receive them.  It is so nice to be able to give back a little to those who have given so much.  Thank you ladies!
Laurie

  1. To see how appreciative these vets were to receive the quilts was an amazing feeling, Deanna
